Dirty Blondes is excited to announce that....(wait for it!) we will be delivering a new yoga/workout collection of tops this spring! It is an inevitable addition to the already fun and fashionable lines that Lindsay Attway, CEO of Dirty Blondes, has previously deliver because she herself is a certified yogi (no, really!). We sat down with Lindsay to get the scoop on why she picks yoga as her go-to for a fitness regimen AND what all of your Dirty Blonde shoppers can expect from the new collection!
Q: When did you start doing yoga, and what led you to it?
A: I started doing yoga in 2008. I was going through a time in my life where I wanted more, mentally and physically. I had been working out with a trainer for years, and it just wasn’t doing it for me. Someone suggested that I try a yoga class.
Q: How has it improved your overall mental and physical health?
A: Having yoga as a form of meditation is exactly what really drew me in. When I discovered that it also was the perfect workout for my body, I was hooked! It has toned my body, and it also keeps me living in the present.
Q: As an instructor, how have you seen it change the lives of other women?
A: From beginners to the advanced, I have seen yoga transform so many different types of women. Yoga is more of a mindset than anything else. Once you learn to respect the breath, it takes you to the present moment. Not to mention, it makes your body long and lean.
Q: What do you think is a common misconception about yoga?
A: That you have to be flexible to do yoga. Yoga will help make both your mind and body flexible. Once you understand to respect your breath and the movements, you can learn to be flexible. Some days you might be able to push yourself and some days you might just need to be in child's pose the entire class.
Q: What other healthy habits do you incorporate into your lifestyle?
A: I am constantly active. Whether I am running errands or walking my dog, I like to take time to enjoy what is going on around me. One of my favorite things to do is go to the farmers market! Healthy food options and getting exercise support my overall passion for wellness.
Q: What made you decide to design a yoga collection?
A: I do a lot of yoga, so I'm in yoga clothing most of the time. I wanted to create a collection of yoga gear that inspires me and that I would wear.
Q: What can we look for in this collection?
A: The collection will be inspiring, flattering and fun with a bohemian sense of style for the fitness chic!
